Cookie Policy

What we store on your device when you visit brazeliamedspa.com, why, and how to change your mind at any time.

1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. Websites also use related technologies — local storage, session storage, and pixels — that work similarly. In this policy, “cookies” covers all of them.

Some are set by us. Some are set by a third party whose service appears on the page, such as our analytics or live chat provider. Some last only until you close your browser (“session”), others stay for a set period (“persistent”).

2. The categories we use

When you first arrive, a banner asks what you are comfortable with. Nothing in the optional categories loads until you choose — the live chat script, in particular, is held back and only injected once you allow it.

3. What sits in each category

Strictly necessary

• Our consent record — stored under bzConsent.v1 in your browser’s local storage, so we do not ask you again on every page. Kept for up to 366 days.
• Cloudflare Turnstile — protects our contact forms from automated spam. It is a privacy-preserving alternative to a CAPTCHA and does not track you across sites.
• WordPress and caching — the site runs on WordPress with page caching. Session cookies keep the site working and, for our own staff, keep them signed in. These are not used to profile visitors.
• Online booking — our appointment tool uses session storage to hold your place in the booking steps while you complete them.

Analytics — only if you allow it

We use Google Analytics. It sets cookies in the _ga family, typically lasting up to two years, to distinguish one visitor from another and measure how the site is used. We have Google Consent Mode configured so that, until you consent, analytics storage is denied by default. We do not enable Google Signals, advertising features, or audience export.

Live chat — only if you allow it

Allowing this loads Tawk.to, a third-party chat service, which sets its own cookies and local storage to keep your conversation together across pages. Because it is operated by a third party, please do not share medical details in chat. Chat may be answered by an AI assistant before a member of our team takes over; Section 8 of our Privacy Policy explains what that assistant can see and how to reach a person instead. Tawk.to’s own privacy policy governs what it does with that data.

Cookie names and durations are set by these providers and can change without notice on their side. The categories above are what we control, and they are what your choice governs.

4. How we record your choice

Your choice is stored on your own device under bzConsent.v1, together with the date and how it was made. It is not sent to us as a personal identifier and is not linked to your name. If you clear your browser storage, the record goes with it and you will be asked again. We ask again after 366 days in any case.

5. Changing your choice

You can change your mind at any time, in either direction, from the Cookie Settings control on the site — it appears in the page footer and as a small control at the edge of the screen.

If you withdraw consent for a category, we delete the cookies and stored data we can reach for that category straight away. A small number of third-party cookies can only be cleared from your own browser; Section 7 explains how.

6. Global Privacy Control

We honor the Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser or an extension sends GPC, we treat it as a decision to decline the optional categories. They stay off, and you do not need to interact with the banner at all. You can still turn something on deliberately from Cookie Settings if you want it.

7. Browser controls

Every major browser lets you see the cookies stored for a site, delete them, and block future ones — usually under Settings, then Privacy, then cookies or site data. You can also browse in a private or incognito window, which discards cookies when you close it.

Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop parts of the site from working properly, including our contact forms and online booking.

To opt out of Google Analytics across every site you visit rather than just this one, Google provides a browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

8. Changes to this policy

If we add or remove a tool that sets cookies, we update this page and, where the change is material, ask for your consent again. The current version always appears here with its effective date.
